This book emerges as a response to the rapidly evolving era of Society 5.0, in which digital technology—particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI)—is increasingly permeating all aspects of life. The presence of AI is not merely a technological phenomenon, but also a moral, spiritual, and epistemological challenge that Islamic education must address wisely. The Muslim community, especially educators and thinkers, must not remain passive observers of this revolution—we must become agents of change, shaping the direction of technological development according to Islamic values.
Through this book titled “Muslim 5.0: Smart Islamic Education in the Era of AI“, the author seeks to present visionary ideas that integrate advanced technology with the profound spirituality of Islam. The book offers not only practical approaches to the use of AI in education but also guidance on how AI can serve as a tool for da’wah (Islamic propagation) and character formation within a strong ethical and theological framework.
Each chapter is systematically arranged to strengthen Islamic digital literacy, provide a deeper understanding of AI concepts and opportunities, and develop adaptive and transformative teaching methods. This work also presents critical reflections on the social and ethical implications of AI, complemented by case studies from Islamic educational institutions around the world—including contributions from local institutions such as UNIMEN and the Muhammadiyah network.
